The small print, made simple

Terms and Conditions

These terms cover using our website and buying Cy's guides, videos and online events. We've kept them as short and clear as we can.

Cy, Cyser's AI guide, smiling

A word from CyNobody likes reading the small print, so I've put the important bits in the dark box below. Do have a look at the rest when you have a cup of tea in hand.

The short version

  • Cyser makes guides, videos, webinars, podcasts and events. We don't offer technical support or fix devices.
  • Premium downloads are yours straight away. Once you've started downloading, you can't cancel for a change of mind.
  • If a download is faulty or not as described, we'll put it right or refund you.
  • Our guides are for you and your family. Please don't share or sell them.
  • Any questions at all? Email hello@cyser.org.

About us

By using our website or buying from us, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What we offer

Cyser makes learning content for people a little more mature in years, and for the families who help them. That means how-to guides, videos, webinars, podcasts and events, some free and some paid.

We sell content only. We don't provide technical support, we don't access or repair your devices, and we can't sort out problems with an individual iPhone, iPad or Mac by email or phone.

We're always happy to hear from you about our guides, and your questions help us decide what Cy covers next.

Buying a guide or video

  • Our shop is run on Payhip, which takes payment securely by card, Apple Pay or PayPal. We never see your card details.
  • Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies.
  • Your order is accepted when payment goes through. You can download your guide or video straight away, and you'll also get a download link by email.
  • Guides are PDF files. You'll need a device that can open a PDF, which every iPhone, iPad and Mac can do.
  • If we ever show the wrong price by mistake, we'll let you know and give you the choice of paying the right price or getting your money back.

Cancelling and refunds

For most things you buy online, you have 14 days to change your mind. Digital downloads are different, because you get them straight away.

At checkout, we'll ask you to agree to get your download immediately. Once you agree and your download starts, you lose the right to cancel for a change of mind.

This doesn't affect your legal rights. If a guide or video is faulty, won't download, or isn't as described, email us at hello@cyser.org. We'll send a working copy, fix it, or give you a refund.

Refunds go back to the way you paid, normally within 14 days of us agreeing to them.

Online events and webinars

  • When you book, we'll email you the date, time and how to join.
  • If you can't make it, tell us at least 48 hours before it starts and we'll refund you or move you to another date.
  • If we have to cancel or move an event, you can choose a new date or a full refund.
  • Some events are recorded. We'll always tell you beforehand, and you can keep your camera and microphone switched off.
  • Please be kind to others in the session. We may remove anyone who is abusive or disruptive.

Using our guides and videos

Everything on this website, including our guides, videos, pictures of Cy and the Cyser name and logo, belongs to Cyser Ltd.

When you download a guide, we give you a personal licence to use it. That means you can:

  • read it on any of your own devices
  • print copies for yourself and your household
  • use it to help a family member with their device.

Please don't share premium guides online, email them to others, sell them, or copy them into your own materials. Our free guides can be printed and handed on freely, as long as they stay unchanged and keep the Cyser name on them.

Following our guides

We check every guide carefully, but Apple updates its software often, and screens can look a little different on your device.

Before you change important settings, it's always wise to back up your device. Follow our guides at your own pace, and stop if something doesn't look right.

We're not responsible for lost data, problems with your devices, or losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen. Where we are responsible, the most we'll pay is the amount you paid us for the guide, video or event concerned.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
